Michael Verble

Born in Livingston, Tennessee, Michael was raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After completing his university studies there, he had tremendous success and enjoyed working in the health care, financial services and insurance industries, until he experienced a life changing event that redirected his career to serving seniors.

Watching his father lose his retirement fund to white collar criminals was a dramatic event for Michael and was the catalyst that prompted him to return to college in 1994 determined to devote his life to helping senior citizens (See Mike’s Story). In 1999, Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University, where he majored in finance with an emphasis on estate planning.

Michael is certified in speaking on the financial, physical, emotional and spiritual issues of aging and he receives ongoing continuing education yearly as an instructor. He has earned a number of professional certifications and designations throughout the years. He has formerly served as a Hospice Counselor for Middle TN Medical Center Hospice Div. in Nashville, TN (now known as Alive Hospice) and served multiple terms on the Fifty Forward Foundation Council as a member of the Board of Directors, which supports and governs the fifteen senior citizen centers throughout Middle Tennessee.

Mike has facilitated multiple continuing education classes for the past 12 years. These include the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) instructor for Attorneys in the State of Tennessee’s middle and eastern districts. CPE for Accountants and CEU for Health Care Professionals.

Mike is a published author of articles for senior focused magazines and newsletters related to estate planning, Medicaid (TennCare/Choices), Medicare, Veterans Benefits and the many struggles in the financial, legal and social issues that affect the aged population in this country. Over his 15-year career, he has personally handled more than 3500 Nursing Home TennCare cases, preserving assets for families as well as an additional 7,000(+) in providing free assistance as a volunteer to families in obtaining VA benefits for home care & assisted living level of care. He is a popular lecturer and keynote speaker who is enthusiastic to share his expertise and passion for seniors with professional groups, churches and civic organizations nationwide.

As a parent of adult children and aged parents, Michael is well-acquainted with the challenge of balancing the demands of family and career. With his home based in Franklin, TN, he is the proud father of two grown daughters, one grown son and one grandson. Mike is an active member at Brentwood Baptist Church where he is actively involved in the choir ministry, frequent speaker within the care ministries, conferences and support areas.
